Our objectives:
The Ontario Amateur Radio Service Net operates everyday on
a frequency of 3.755 mhz lower side band.
The purpose of ONTARS is to provide signal reports, pass traffic
and take routine checkins from amateur radio operators in Canada.
Thanks to the generosity of the various control operators and net
managers, ONTARS has been in operation
for the last 38 years. Your checkins keep the ONTARS net active
and secure our position on the frequency spectrum.
All Canadian and US amateurs are welcome to check in to our net.
Check-in Procedure:
Please give your callsign with phonetics in an orderly fashion.
Controllers will usually take a list of full call signs, then return
to speak briefly for traffic/message opportunities.
When you are called in, please come back with your name and location
for the controller's log.
If you hear a station that you wish to contact, during checkins,
please break in using the word "CONTACT".
This procedure will stop net activities and you should identify
fully with your callsign and then call the desired station.
Emergency/mobile traffic takes priority over everything and all
stations should standbye until those transmissions are cleared.
Feel free to provide weather reports, request signal reports or technical
assistance on equipment or antenna issues.
Most controllers are able to copy CW, so if you are having trouble
checking in on SSB, then use that mode.
